LIZ HERE NOW (2026)
COMPOSER
Sean Renner is currently composing and producing the score for the feature film "Liz Here Now".
The film stars Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, nominated for an Academy Award for her role opposite Will Smith in "King Richard", and is directed by Sterling Macer, known for his role as Jumpin' in "Where the Crawdads Sing".

Based on a true story, "Liz Here Now" follows Liz Baxter (Ellis-Taylor), who works as a nanny for the Connors, a prominent, white family in Oakland, California during the rise of the Black Panther Party in 1967. When Liz discovers that the Connor children are suffering under the hand of their mother, and attempts to step in to protect the children, she is accused of participating in a Black Panther conspiracy.

In a statement on the project, Sterling Macer Jr. told Deadline, “Our approach to "Liz Here Now" is a deconstruction of the black maid’s story, and to a degree, bends the genre of the civil rights era domestic drama, borrowing some of its cinematic language from the world of suspense and even horror.”

The film's score, currently in production, is being recorded with the Macedonian Symphonic Orchestra and the Invoke String Quartet.
